And in other news…

One of my pieces of flash fiction, The Garden of Broken Promises, has been published today on The Drabble.

Should you have a free moment – the story is only 99 words long – you can read it here. Β I would love to hear what you think.

There are some really great pieces of flash fiction to be found over there, and, if you’re a writer – or even if you’re not – why not consider submitting something…it’s only 100 words (or less), after all…

Have a great evening, and an even better week! πŸ™‚

  1. Hey Sammi,

Published in writing, published on-line…is there no end to your talented outpourings nor your rise to published success? Clever girl that you are πŸ™‚

Flash fiction is a new phenomenon to me, and I paused to read a few on The Drabble (great name that!) to get a general feel for what it is all about. I find the stories much like poetry, each made ‘more’ complete by the removal of the superfluous to leave only the essential and a host of spaces for the reader to add their own imagination and inner comment. Each piece is a small spill of ink that seems to always fill an entire page. Your story is poetic in this way, succinct and exacting and yet expansive at the same time. I greatly enjoyed the diminished word count, the subtle word play, and the tragic growth of sentiment and unrequited love in your once idyllic ‘garden’….it is a superb analogy through which to have flowered your rose. You will be writing more i hope?

I’ve said it before Sammi C, these are exciting times so do enjoy the ride πŸ™‚

    • Hey Dewin, thank you (again πŸ™‚ ) for your generous and encouraging comment.

I enjoy writing flash fiction – you arrive at the feeling of accomplishment and completion much quicker than most other forms of writing, so naturally it works well with my often short concentration span πŸ™‚

I can quiet easily imagine that with your gift for poetry you would do very well at flash fiction, should you wish to give it a go πŸ™‚

Have a great evening. Kindest regards and Brightest Blessings πŸ™‚
