Penelope by Dante Gabriel Rosetti (picture creidt: Wikipedia)

Weaving in and out

Back and forth

Undoing what’s been done

All for a little time

Men watching her always

Her young son

Thinking himself a man

But the King of Ithaca

Was none of these

“Odysseus, where are you, my love?”

She would silently cry

But the only answers the gods offered

Was the passing of time
