I stand here
At the boundary
The border between
Here and there
Insignificant to look at
But deadly important
On one side
I’m safe
Free to come and go
As I please
Though knowledge be limited
But the other side
Not so safe
Where I would be trapped
Stuck, unable to return
But where magic is boundless
So I linger here
Between places
Neither in one or the other
Enjoying the benefits of both
Until the day
I have to choose
Where I belong
Written for Day 12 of A Month of Mini Writing Challenges 2017: Write a poem about boundaries or a boundary. Any length.
