Hey Sammi, Namaste 🙂
Hoping all is well, and your week since last Saturday one that brought endless enjoyment.
A Triolet – ‘a poem of eight lines, typically of eight syllables each, rhyming abaaabab and so structured that the first line recurs as the fourth and seventh and the second as the eighth.’ I don’t even understand what this means let alone trying it, so I am ignoring your rules. My week ended on an absolute low confronting fascism yet again and the nonsense of deluded reality.
~ F-F-F-F-Fly Off ~ By ~ Dewin Nefol ~
If only I could leave that rat infested place,
A grubby disgrace riddled with liars,
Vermin infesting soulless mires.
I wish I could leave, or be so inspired
To f-f-f-fuck right off, flyover spires.
Rise above the tumulus tide,
Take a one-way journey to the other side.
And with any luck die there happily.

Namaste 🙂

Oh dear, Dewin. Sorry to hear that last week ended on a low. 😦 I hope you had a better week this week just gone. Yes, the triolet is probably the hardest poetic form we’ve had so far on the Weekend Writing Prompt. It took me a while to get my head around, though I still haven’t attempted to write one yet lol

I too just wrote my first triolet and enjoyed the structure. (Hope I did it correctly)
Thank you for the prompt, I wouldn’t have written this without it.
Have a great week.
