In the dark of night they come

Singing their songs of silence

Drowning out the highlights

Of what’s gone before

The indigo hours are awash with dreams

Life forgotten, faded away

Watercolour memories are all that remain

As we walk the secret paths

Of worlds hitherto unknown

  1. Hey Sammi, Namaste 🙂

How are you? This an enjoyably creative poem: perhaps softer, more gentle in tone. Some wonderful lines and imagery and I always like the word indigo: it verbalises really well.

As an aside, it’s just me but every time I read the word ‘watercolour’ my mind registers it as ‘watermelon.’ 🙂 I haven’t a clue why.

Anyway, hoping your evening is warming up nicely. Take care.

    Namaste 🙂

    • Hey Dewin 🙂
Glad you enjoyed the poem. Yeah, it’s a little different to the poems I usually post.
Indigo is one of my favourite words, not to mention a favourite colour 🙂
“Watermelon” eh? Very interesting… “Watermelon memories are all that remain”…that makes for a very different poem lol
Have a great evening, Dewin. Brightest Blessings 🙂
