Hey Sammi C, Namaste 🙂
A new weekend rolls into town and this an extended version of the last, which prompts me to say ‘Happy Eostre’, and wish you chocolate bunny indulgence and Simmel cake delight 🙂
A really interesting photograph to tease and confuse the eye 🙂 ‘Glimpse’ is a great word to use for the image…indeed I imagine a few readers will also be baffled as I was by the object protruding over the rocks. It’s a dramatic perspective and I suddenly feel very small like a nervous snail…
~ Glimpse ~ By ~ Dewin Nefol ~
No more than a glimpse and yet quite certain,
I must not breathe or the moment will worsen,
I must not move or else be eaten!
Smashed to smithereens ripped from my shell:
A one-way ticket on a journey to Hell!
~*~
Another happy poem to add to the pure enjoyment of writing lol 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend.
Namaste 🙂

Hey Sarah, Namaste 🙂
Happy Easter! Should you be celebrating this weekend I hope chocolate has featured somewhere in your plans or on your agenda? 🙂
Thank you for enjoying my scribble…I thought the photograph ominous and threatening: that it demanded a change of perspective whilst fear beaded on my brow. Snails just happen to be topical in my thoughts at this time 🙂
Enjoy a wonderful week. Take care of one and all 🙂

If I were a snail, I would feel very nervous too! Your poem captures that anxiety perfectly 🙂

Hey Sammi, Namaste 🙂
As would I be very nervous indeed and yet such danger is all part-and-parcel of a snail’s slow-paced swashbuckling adventure: snails tweak the nose of fear and laugh bravely in the face of adversity. They are marauders of the garden, pirates of the flower-bed, outlaws and renegades, mercenaries for hire: loner’s with spiralled-shells always searching for the one elusive garden called Paradise and the legendary Golden Lettuce 😀
Namaste 🙂

Beautiful tanka. I love the mystery of the familiar choosing not to meet the eye of the person who glimpsed it 🙂
