Write a piece of flash fiction, a poem, a chapter for your novel…anything you like. Or take the challenge below – there are no prizes – it’s not a competition but rather a fun writing exercise. If you want to share what you come up with, please leave a link to it in the comments.

Just the poetry challenge from me this week, though it could double up in response to the prose challenge too!

Hey Sammi, Namaste 🙂 How are you?
How are you upon this day? I hope all is well and y’all giddy with spring.
An interesting and expansive challenge this week, which I’ve not done justice to at all (sorry!), but instead scribbled down remnants of a conversation I heard Merlin have with Hermes about slugs and stuff…
“Fortitude and resilience,”
“Takes experience my friend.”
“To defend one’s noble heart,”
“Against Dark-Arts,” said Hermes.
“One must be resolute and tenacious,”
“Pertinacious and mettlesome,” said he.
~
“You mean ring-fence one’s heart” said Merlin.
“As if a garden one protects from weeds?”
“Indeed,” said Hermes, “a fine analogy.”
“Stout-hearted, rock-ribbed, fixed and fenced.”
“One’s defence must be defiance.”
“Stalwart facing adversity.”
~
“A garden must be slug free,” said he.
“Else the bleeders will feast away, and,”
“Before you know it there’ll come a day,”
“When one’s garden will lay in ruin:”
“When chewin’ has eaten its way,”
“Through flowers to leave only grey.”
~
“What stops slugs,” said Merlin,
“What stops them getting in?”
“Wisdom,” replied Hermes,
“And snakes,” said he.
“The wisdom of snakes,”
“Keeps one’s garden slug free.”
~
“Ah,” said Merlin now there’s an epiphany.”
“You see,” said he, “I thought snakes to be,”
“Moody mean and nasty: sneaky in every way.”
“But today you’ve been a revelation:”
“Eased my consternation should ever an infestation”
“Of Slippery snakes enter my garden: I know I’ll be slug free!”
~*~
Enjoy your weekend with merriment and good cheer ever-present in abundance. Take care have a great week!
Namaste 🙂

Hope you don’t mind if I pass on this: I am insufficiently Resolute; haven’t the Fortitude; and have just received an Epiphany
