In Search of a Fool (Lyr#21 – part 2)

He broke through the surface at the centre of the pool. Skin, shiny from the water, could not hide its blue-silver tinge. His hair was long, reaching towards his waist over a muscle-clad chest. In fact, most of him was muscle. I rolled my eyes.

‘I don’t suppose you have clothes in your underwater realm,’ I muttered. He heard and scowled at me, but directed his words to Arastia.

‘What are you doing here?’

‘I need to speak to my father-’

‘And you’ve been forbidden entry at the palace gates? So you think to come here and disturb me, in the hope I’ll willingly disobey The Bull?’ He snorted. ‘No chance. Find another fool.’

With that, he descended once more beneath the water.

‘It looks like we are going to have to go the long way round. Come on, Lyr. Keep up.’
